The Orthodox Christian Fellowship

God is Great, Glorify Him! This is the motto of our organization as we approach yet another year as Orthodox college students at Northern Arizona University. We have many exciting events coming soon. Joel, Cody, Mascha, and Father Nicholas will be leaving on spring break for an OCF mission trip to Greece. They will be working on repairs and rebuilding for the monastery of the Holy Twelve Apostles in Kardista. For those of us not going they will continually be in our prayers as they spread the love of the Lord in that ancient land. We have hikes in Sedona and a volunteer day at the Rescue Mission in Flagstaff coming this month. The Rescue Mission will be the club’s first opportunity to help those less fortunate than us. We hope to have many more events in which we will give our time and energy to help the City of Flagstaff, our parish, and the university. In the past several weeks we have been very active in our events and functions. This February we renovated the Holy Paschal Cross and Tomb of our Lord for the upcoming Holy Week (see picture below.) They both look amazing with a new coat of glossy paint and new varnishing. Thanks to everyone who helped in the project. Meetings now take place every week and as a result we have grown much closer as friends and soldiers in Christ. We have had discussions about the upcoming election, watched movies on the church history and had a wonderful Russian movie called "The Island". We have discussed the trials that face college students and how we can face them together. On March 12th I gave a presentation to the club on Love, Sexuality, and the Sacrament of Marriage and Fr. Nicholas is planning to give a lecture on icons when he returns from Greece. This has been a very prosperous semester and we are hoping to keep the standard going until the end of this year. We would like to thank Tammy and Toula for all their help in raising funds for the club. We couldn’t have done it without you. We also would like to thank Father for putting aside his time to help guide us into the faith. Our events are open to anyone and we hope that we can share our experiences with all of you. As we enter into Lent our compassion and strength as a family will help us grow closer to God and the greatest gifts of all.

Note: Our link is now available on the GOMONA website. If anyone has any experience with forming internet pages and would like to help us create one please contact us.

Thanks!

Michael J. Conrad, OCF President
