3rd Annual Rummage/Bake Sale (2006) Summary
Our 3rd annual Rummage Sale was held May 5th and 6th in the basement of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.  Our little Mission is becoming known in the Flagstaff Community, and the people are anticipating our rummage sale each spring, as well as the Glendi and Baklava in the fall.  Once again, sales figures topped the previous year's.

Many thanks to all who donated sale items, baked goods and their time to make this fundraiser a success.  One of God's greatest blessings is the time we share together and this event was no exception.

Nursing Home Ministry
Pony Boy, Lillian, Vera, Gertrude…these are a few of the people you will have a chance to meet if you join our monthly visits to visit Infinia Nursing. You don’t have to become a regular, although you might, after meeting some of the people and discovering you have a talent for being there for them (listening to their stories, praying with them, or sharing something about your life).

Visits are on Saturdays, and dates for the rest of 2006 are:

August 12th, September 9th, October 7th, November 4th, and December16th.

We meet at the church around 9AM and from there go to Infinia for about an hour. Afterwards, if everyone has time, we go for coffee and some of the best donuts in town. This is a much-needed ministry for those who may be forgotten and lonely. You have a chance to make a difference in someone’s life. Please join us. For more information, contact Mary Grove at 928-226-1882 or mfgrove@hotmail.com

New Divine Liturgy Books - Starting September 2006
After much research and consultation the Mission will be adopting a new Divine Liturgy book in September.  Through the input of many professional Byzantine Chanters and coral directors we have chosen to transfer from the blue spiral bound liturgical books to a maroon hard covered book published by Kevin Lawrence out of Scottsdale Arizona.  The text will be much more complete and the music will flow smoother than our current version, while still maintaining the Byzantine ethos.  It will take several months for the congregation to become accustom to some of the new music, even though much of the notation is the same as our current version, so we need all to be patient.  Much of the new music is accessible here, on our web site, as audio files and the books are now available through our bookstore to borrow for those would like get a head start on learning the music.  Special thanks needs to be given to the Metropolis of San Francisco's Commission Of Mission and Evangelism (C.O.M.E.) for donating the funds to purchase all the books.  If you have any question contact Fr. Nicholas.
